Mojo Maverick Charity Auction
Victim Support’s local branch in Manchester has been given a unique opportunity to raise money by auctioning the Mojo Maverick award presented to Mark E Smith of legendary Manchester band, The Fall in June this year.
All proceeds will go towards helping victims of crime in Manchester. The auction is being hosted for us on our Leicestershire & Rutland’s charity eBay site. Bidding closes at 2:30pm on Thursday 7th August. Anyone wanting to own this unique piece of history will need to be quick.
The fastest way to find the auction is to search for ‘Mojo Maverick’ on eBay. There’s also a link on our charity homepage at www.victimsupport-gm.co.uk. At the time of writing, the current high bid has gone from £410 at 10am this morning to £501!
David Knowles, Volunteer Manager at the Manchester Branch, said; “We are really honoured to be given this impressive and unique award to auction. Every single penny of the money we raise will benefit victims of crime in the city, so please, bid high and help us to reach more people who need our help.”
During 2008, Victim Support charities across the country will begin to merge into one national organisation. At the current time, Victim Support & Witness Service Greater Manchester is working to transfer into the national charity at the end of this financial year. This is a massive undertaking, one that must be achieved without disruption to the service our clients depend on. We are working hard to ensure that everyone with an interest in the charity is informed about the changes, and our progress towards becoming one organisation.
