"To help you we need help too"

Our service provides information, practical help and emotional support to people who have experienced a crime, and to their families and friends. Our services are free and confidential and equally accessible to all.

How can I make a donation?

Every week, over 3,000 people in Greater Manchester become victims of crime. Our volunteers are there to offer support to anyone who needs it.
There are four easy ways to donate.

  1. You can make a donation online through Justgiving.com
  2. You can set up a standing order
  3. You can send your donation in the post to Victim Support, 153-157 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 4AE. Please make your cheque payable to Victim Support Greater Manchester
  4. You can get involved in fundraising!

As part of the government Gift Aid initiative, Victim Support can now recover tax on any donation we receive. To qualify for this tax relief, you must give us consent. This usually involves ticking a box, and supplying your full name, and home address.

How will your donation help?

£16 could support a volunteer for one week
£25 could pay for a volunteer to visit and prepare a child witness for court
£50 could provide 10 vulnerable victims with panic alarms

£75 could pay for a volunteer to attend a Domestic Violence or Hate Crime Awarenesss Course
£125 could cover the cost of giving basic training to one volunteer

£300 could cover the cost of training a volunteer to support a victim of serious crime

£345 would cover the costs of recruiting, training and accrediting a volunteer in your area

No matter how big or small your donation, you can help make a real difference to victims of crime.

Other ways to help

Recycle Your Old Mobiles For Cash!

Most of use have at least a few old mobiles stashed away in the bottom of a drawer somewhere, but did you know that these old mobiles can be worth up to £100 each?

We have teamed up with Envirofone so that you can easily recycle your old mobiles for cash.  If you go through one of the links below, we will also get a donation at no cost to you.

So go look for your old phones (even the ones that don't work anymore), pester all your friends and family for theirs and do your bit for the environment (and earn yourself some money at the same time)!

How Do I Do It?

There are several ways that you can recycle your old mobiles.  You can start straight away by clicking here to go to the website and following the simple steps.

Alternatively, you can request a freepost envelope by emailing fundraising@victimsupport-gm.co.uk, or if you have a number of phones to recycle you can request a collection by email or telephone.

What Happens To The Phones?

The mobile phones you send in are re-used wherever possible in areas around the world that need them.  These areas usually have a poor landline infrastructure, which creates a demand for the type of mobile technology some of us would class as obsolete.  If mobile phones cannot be re-used, they are recycled in the appropriate manner.

Click here to find out how much your phone is worth and to start recycling!
